Teach Your Students Important Editing & Revising Skills to Strengthen their Writing

WHO:  Teachers, Grades 3-6 (with a particular focus on Grades 3 & 4, other grades welcome to attend)

This workshop is geared for any teacher responsible for teaching editing and revising for grades 3-6.  Empowering Writers will provide the “how” for delivering direct instruction in revising and editing. Experience how specific instruction of grammar and mechanics brings clarity to all forms of communication. Come away with so much more than just “skill and drill”!

Participants will:

  •  understand the parts of speech and how they are truly the building blocks of language
  • learn effective strategies for revising run-on sentences and eliminating redundant ideas
  • explore hands-on-activities designed to make learning grammar fun
  • utilize student work for authentic application
  • see at a glance the movement of skills through the grade levels

Resource Available:  Editing, Revising & More Teacher Manual with either printed Student Books (Grades 3-4) or Digital Student Pages (Grades 3-6)

Workshop Requirements:

Each participant is required to have the corresponding Empowering Writers' Editing & Revising teacher and student resources (digital or printed).
  • Remember that Empowering Writers’ Editing, Revising and More digital guide includes a school year HUB license that delivers digital teaching resources for an entire school year of editing and revising instruction.  The HUB allows for easy, online access to your Editing & Revising resource, along with a wealth of other done-for-you resources and teach-it tools to access online and use now through June 30, 2022.   Teachers love the EW HUB for their writing instruction!
